In addition, you have some extra tools you can use to make the tasks even easier, like the "Windows To Go Conversion" tool. It allows you to clone your PC's Windows system into a USB drive too, but also to perform the opposite operation: copy your portable Windows in your USB drive back to your hard disk, setting it as your "fixed" operating system. I have a 64 GB flash drive and want to clone just the Windows 10 system files (54.2GB), not the whole 118G SSD C: drive. Is this possible?

Judging by the application’s online documentation, I don’t think that is possible as WinToUSB also clones the third-party tools installed on your Windows. However, I recommend contacting the developers using this email address: [email protected]m
and asking them directly if there is any way for you to select which files and programs get cloned to the USB memory stick.

Alternatively, you could try installing a secondary Windows on a different partition, setting up the applications that you need, then cloning that operating system instead of your main one.

WinToUSB will copy all the files in source boot partition (Usually C: ) to the destination USB drive, so the destination USB drive must be larger than the used space on source boot partition. And WinToUSB requires that the destination boot partition must be 20% larger than the used space on source boot partition, the used space on your boot partition (C:) is 54.2 GB, so you need at least a 66GB (54.2GB * 1.2 = 65.04GB) USB drive if you want to copy your Windows OS to it as a portable Windows.

I want to use a hard drive but it is 1TB and I also use it for file backups. Can I continue to keep my backups on it as well as using it for a portable OS? In other words, can I create the partitions without formatting the whole disk?

You can perform hard disk operations without formatting the drive. Simply install a partition manager solution on your PC and then you can use it to shrink one HDD without formatting it.
For this procedure, I recommend using MiniTool Partition Wizard. Download and install the application, then right click the partition you want to split and select Split.
This is how it looks:
MiniTool's interface window

yes you can,but I’ll recommend to use windows in a free partition.

What I’d do just to be safe is back up your data, format your drive, install Windows, and then move your data back onto the drive

Only one user account is allowed. Cannot use if you want to include two bank accounts (i.e., checking & savings). What good is one account??

these have got to be fake reviews, this program did very little. it ran but there wasn’t any difference. actually it seemed to reboot slower, mainly because it removed some needed files. normal everyday maintenance will do the same thing this does and it wouldn’t cost you $30.

I wrote an image of my newly installed XP to a second hard drive, then burned that image to a DVD. Tried to restore from the DVD, the program wouldn’t do it, said the file was corrupt. Tried to create the image direct to DVD, the program wouldn’t do it. This happened twice, with two different reasons given. First time it ejected the DVD abd asked for CD, second time it said it was a trial version and wouldn’t proceed. So, tried to create image to a set of CDs. On the third CD, the program quit with errors. There seems to be no way to write only the third CD again, and I already have enough coasters. So, I have no way of knowing whether the image I made can be restored or not. I would have thought that was fairly important information. Oh, and I didn’t try to restore from the second hard drive because I have zero confidence, based on what I’ve seen of the program so far, that this software wouldn’t trash the disk.

The website sells it short – this is so much more of a product than its marketing may give credit for….

I’ve been getting very turned off with Adobe Flash as they add features that make online ads more and more obnoxious. The last straw was about a year ago when Harry Potter flew beyond the borders of my small AIM window and pranced around on his broomstick across my screen to promote his new movie. Very annoying at home. Completely unacceptable in a work environment. However, as web content keeps getting more sophisticated, we have no choice but to upgrade to make features work, thus the summary as a “necessary evil”. I would recommend FLASHBLOCK for Firefox users. Keep copies of your downloaded older versions of any free stuff if you’re able to, just in case.

Stays resident in memory, even when you dont select this option. Crashes Windows XP on every use, requiring a reboot. I would suggest less effort on “looks” and more focus on program stability.

If you don’t add a password, your clients could get hacked. We started with no password and while we were on the clients computer, we could see someone asking for access. Of course we said no.. that’s when we contacted Ammyy and they told us about the password.

Companies like Adobe have an oversized ego and try to get into everything on your computer. Hog resources, start up files, as bad a s a virus.

Unless I missed a prompt, once the download was finished, the program started the install and INSTALLED GOOGLE CHROME without asking!

Has major glitches in the software which interfere with overall performance. Tech support is non-existant. There is no physical contact info, or phone number — only an e-mail address, which provides no response. Do not purchase this product!

it seems the player has some problems opening some video/media files from external HDD, even though the files were the same if it is on the desktop, for example- .mkv files of a particular show/episode on desktop, it will play it but if it was on the internal HDD some of the .mkv files are abled to play on the player but some doesn’t, same for some .mp4 files

I’m a very technically challenged person so I went through quite a series of jolts when my PC crashed all of a sudden while I was doing an online transaction. I was helpless until I called up my friend and in turn he asked me to call the iYogi tech support provider. I contacted them at that very instant and a technician quickly responded. I explained my problem to him and in turn, he explained to me all the possible technical causes behind it in the layman language. He also asked me to install Support Dock (a PC optimization tool) to counteract the future technical glitches. Since then, my PC has been functioning efficiently and it has also become faster than before.

you cant fix most of the supposed problems, besides removing temp files pretty much, unless you buy. even then, it will say can free like 500MB of temp files, then only clears 150MB. intentionally written as deceptive software. like its still acceptable like in 2005 or something. doesnt tell you initially what is only available in “free” crap version, so you just waste time scanning everything, then it tells you sorry you need to buy to do that. crap methodology. installed without my approval when i only wanted to install their duplicate file finder software.

You can use your default browser (FireFox or Opera) and manage your own bookmarks. It requires no separate program… let alone paying for this program.

Adobe is bloated and glitchy often resulting in my computer freezing for 20-30 seconds upon opening it. Foxit reader is the superior product, small ram consumption and so far no glitches.
